Kamara, Lower Castle or Riva. It is the arched, stone built arch under Riva square which unites the peninsula of Chora with the islet and the Lower Castle of the Venetian times. It was built in 1207 by the first Venetian sovereign of the island, Marinos Dandolos, right where the rock meets the sea. Even today, the ruins of the wall are noticeable while the current shape of the arch was constructed after the war.
